Hills Ultimate
Ultimate was introduced to the Hills area in 2003 by a Touch Football coach. In the beginning it was just a distraction from touch football and games were often played as pickup with up to 10 a side. In late 2003 with financial support from NSWFDA, a league with 5 teams was established by George Atton. Player numbers fluctuated over the next 2 years.
In 2005, Hills Ultimate hosted its first tournament, the Hills Hoist. Many new players in the district were introduced to the game, such as (then) Junior Worlds players, Ellie Sparke and Steve Gangemi. The league doubled to 8 teams and was moved to its present location at Eric Mobbs Recreational Reserve. A website was established and team shirts were obtained for the first time.
2006 saw the first Hills Winter indoor league, and the Summer outdoor league expanded to 2 divisions.
